Areas of Focus

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression can feel overwhelming to handle alone. I provide my clients with a safe space where they can process and work through challenging emotions that are tied to their anxiety and/or depression. Together we will set goals, strengthen coping tools, and work towards personal growth and healing.

Type 1 Diabetes

When a child, teen, or young adult are diagnosed with T1D, they are immediately thrown into a big life transition. There is added responsibility, emotional ups and downs, and an adjustment to a new way of life. It is important to have a safe space where they can process and work through challenging emotions and enhance coping tools.

Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can sometimes feel overwhelming. On top of regular daily stressors, there can be additional challenges that come with living with a chronic illness. Often, you may feel alone and isolated. Having your own support system helps create a safe place where you can work through these feelings and gain coping tools to feel confident that you can move through these challenges in a positive way.

TEENS

Teenagers face challenges with self-esteem and social issues, especially in today’s world with social media. It is important that they have a safe space to explore and process their feelings. I work collaboratively with my teen clients to empower them in gaining a stronger sense of self. Together we will set goals and work to build self-esteem, addressing everyday life as a teen.

SIBLINGS

Often, when one child in the home is facing challenges such as ASD, chronic illness, addiction, and behavioral problems, the majority of the focus turns onto them. When this is the case, the other children in the home can feel left out, alone, guilty, and are in need of their own support. Having a safe space to express their own feeling surrounding the change in the family system is extremely beneficial to their well-being.

YOUNG ADULTS

Transitioning into adulthood comes with many stressors of its own. Having psychosocial stressors occur on top of everything can feel like a lot. I am here to help young adults adjust to their independence while learning to process and work through challenging emotions. Together we will work to build confidence and enhance coping tools for anxiety, stress, and depression.

FAMILIES

Family members of individuals experiencing chronic illness, mental health challenges, and addiction often need additional support. The family dynamic shifts as each individual experiences their own frustrations, emotions, and challenges. Together, we will work to better understand how the family can work together and build stronger relationships.
