Living with Type 1 Diabetes can be overwhelming; you don’t have to walk through it alone.
How I Can Help
Kids
Children with Type 1 Diabetes take on a lot of responsibility at a very young age. Often, they can feel afraid, isolated and different from their peers at school. When they learn that their life can be fun and full of all the things they did before diabetes, they will feel less afraid and more comfortable to engage in social activities. Together, we will work to help them understand their diabetes and develop coping tools to work through challenging emotions.
Teens
Teenagers face challenges with self-esteem and social issues, especially in today’s world with social media. Adding in Type 1 Diabetes can be overwhelming and complicated, setting them apart from their peer group. It is important that they have a safe space to explore and process their feelings. Together we will set goals and work to build self-esteem, addressing everyday life as a teen.
Young Adults
Transitioning into adulthood comes with many stressors of its own. Having Type 1 Diabetes on top of everything can feel like a lot. I am here to help young adults adjust to their independence, while continuing to care for their diabetes. Together we will work to build confidence and enhance coping tools for anxiety, stress, and depression.
